The Jacksonville Jaguars are coming off back-to-back wins over potential playoff teams. Couple that with the fact that their Week 6 matchup against the Seattle Seahawks will be at EverBank Stadium, and it's not particularly shocking to learn that they're the favorite to come out on top. That said, the Jags cannot afford to take their NFC West opponent lightly.
After all, the Hawks tend to travel well, going 9-1 on road games under head coach Mike McDonald. That means that they'll have a chance even if their odds are in their favor. And that's the thing, injuries have depleted the Seattle secondary, but quarterback Sam Darnold has shown that even in a losing effort, he can put his team on his shoulders.
On the other hand, the Jags also have a few things going in their favor: Their stout defense has the pieces, at all three levels, to contain Darnold. If that wasn't enough, Jacksonville will probably enjoy favorable weather when it welcomes the Seahawks.
Weather report projects slight chance of rain for Jaguars vs. Seahawks
According to NFLWeather, there's a precipitation probability of 11 percent, meaning that it probably won't rain. It will be 77 degrees Fahrenheit and winds of eight MPH, so the climate conditions might not be a factor for the game.
If it rained, though, the Jaguars may want to lean on their backfield trio of Travis Etienne, Bhayshul Tuten, and LeQuint Allen. But if it doesn't, Trevor Lawrence will surely want to test the Seahawks' secondary.

Trevor Lawrence and the Jaguars have a favorable matchup vs. the Seawhawks secondary
The Seahawks were without cornerbacks Devon Witherspoon, Julian Love, and Riq Woolen in the second half of their loss to the Tampa Buccaneers. They're all listed as questionable for the game, meaning that the Seattle defensive backfield could be vulnerable. It will now be up to Trevor Lawrence to take advantage of the matchups.
Lawrence got off to a rough start to the 2025 season but has played much better the past two games, completing 69.6 percent of his throws for 395 yards with two touchdowns and one interception. On top of that, he's had 17 rushes for 64 yards.
Granted, the former Clemson Tiger will be without Brenton Strange, who's on Injured Reserve after suffering a quad injury. However, his rapport with Brian Thomas Jr. has improved, wide receiver Dyami Brown is back in the fold, and Travis Hunter has made strides on offense.
Simply put, the Jaguars have the firepower to fend off the Seahawks and extend their winning streak to four.
