After years of dealing with a revolving door at kicker, the Jacksonville Jaguars found much-needed stability at the position when they drafted Cam Little in 2024. Right off the bat, the rookie out of Arkansas proved that he was the long-term answer at the position. However, he had a slump early in his sophomore campaign that raised questions about his job security. But despite his struggles, the Jags stood right beside him. The decision paid off.

As Andrew Kessler of 904analytics points out, Little has been on fire since his funk, going 13-of-13 on his kicks and making all four of his attempts from 50 yards out. If that wasn't enough, he set a new NFL record when he nailed a 68-yard field goal. And against the Denver Broncos in Week 16, he'll have a chance to keep padding up his statline, based on the latest weather report.

The Jaguars will enjoy favorable weather vs. the Broncos

For the Broncos game, NFLWeather projects a temperature of 61 degrees Fahrenheit and a 3.0 percent chance of precipitation. On top of that, the winds will be around 5 MPH, so the weather probably won't have a negative impact on the outcome of the game. Quite the opposite.

Both the Broncos and Jacksonville will be able to sling the pigskin due to the ideal weather conditions. But wait, there's more! Cam Little should have no trouble performing and may even have an edge because the game will be held at Mile High.

The weather will allow Jaguars kicker Cam Little to thrive

See, the altitude at Empower Stadium is 5,280 feet. Because there's less air resistance, the football travels farther, and as it is, Cam Little has the accuracy and the strength to potentially nail a field goal of 65+ yards. Already, he made one for 70 yards in the offseason, and he'll have a great opportunity to kick another when the Jaguars visit the Broncos.

As noted before, Little has already set a new NFL record this season, and he'll have a favorable chance to break his own record against Denver. But even if the chance never arises, he could easily nail attempts of 50-60 yards without breaking a sweat. That would, in turn, give Jacksonville plenty of flexibility in the game plan.

Of course, the Jaguars will want to score touchdowns rather than kick field goals. Similarly, the defense will need to step up and contain the Denver defense. Having said that, there's no doubt that Cam Little could turn out to be the X-Factor.
