Having been eliminated from playoff contention, the Jacksonville Jaguars are gearing up for their last game in several months. They'll be taking on the Indianapolis Colts in the season finale. The game will be at Lucas Oil Stadium, and the weather will most likely affect the outcome of the game.
Given that the Jags play in Florida, they have to either deal with either heavy rain or intense heat. But hardly ever do they to play with snow. That won't be the case when they face Indy in Week 18.
It will snow when the Jaguars play the Colts in Week 18
Per NFLWeather, there will be severe snow in Indianapolis. It will be 18 degrees Fahrenheit and there will be a 77 percent chance of precipitation. Working in their favor is that they'll be playing on a dome, so it won't be much of an issue.
Jacksonville is a five-point underdog for the game, mostly because it will be the visiting team. However, the Colts are coming off a demoralizing loss to the lowly New York Giants. With a chance to keep their playoff hopes alive, Indy lost 45-33 in Week 17. Even worse is that linebacker Zaire Franklin said before the season that he was going to "spank" the G-Men. His comments came back to haunt him.
Meanwhile, the Jaguars are riding high after beating the Tennessee Titans in Week 17. While they have previously struggled to win games, they had a decisive win against a division foe, showing competency of offense and limiting their division foes to a respectable 13 points.
Mac Jones looked more comfortable after several underwhelming performances, completing 68.2 percent of his throws for 174 yards with two touchdowns and no interceptions. On the other hand, Brian Thomas Jr. continued his impressive rookie campaign while Parker Washington kept making a case that he deserves a bigger role in 2025.
The defense also did its part, with sacks from Travon Walker, Maason Smith, and Josh Hines-Allen. Devin Lloyd also contributed with an interception off a tipped pass.
The Jaguars won't have to deal with Anthony Richardson
The Jacksonville Jaguars swept the Tennessee Titans this season and they'll have the chance to also pull off the feat against the Indianapolis Colts despite the fact that they're an underdog ahead of the finale. They already beat them and they won't have to worry about sophomore Anthony Richardson, who's already been ruled out for the game.
With Richardson suffering back spasms, Joe Flacco will start for the Colts in Week 18. The veteran quarterback isn't doing particularly great, but the Colts won't have many enticing alternatives.
Indy may not aask Flacco to throw much and will instead lean on 2021 Offensive Player of the Year Jonathan Taylor. The Jaguars will do something similar and will most likely get Travis Etienne and Tank Bigsby involved early in the game.
This won't probably be a high-scoring affair, and whichever team commits fewer mistakes will come out on top.
