The Jacksonville Jaguars released several players ahead of free agency. While the moves were business decisions, there's no doubt that the players that are leaving will miss the friends they made along the way. Similarly, Trevor Lawrence will miss his teammates and recently took to social media to let them know how he feels.

Following the news that the Jags had released tight end Evan Engram, Lawrence posted on Twitter that he'll miss him, pointing out that his former teammate was always a pro and one of the best he's been around.

"One of the best I've been around, @eazyengram," Lawrence said. "Going to miss you bro. I appreciate everything you've done for me and I have so much respect for how you handle your business. A true pro!! Keep being you."

Similarly, Lawrence praised center Mitch Morse once the news of his retirement surfaced.

"mithenmorse60 congrats on a great career brother. Only was with you for a short time but still felt your impact and have always respected the way you played the game and the person you are. Go enjoy retirement big dawg!!!," Lawrence said.

But wait! There's more. The first domino that fell was wide receiver Christian Kirk getting traded to the Houston Texans. Lawrence wrote a farewell message to one of his most trusted targets the past three seasons.

"Man it was a privilege to share the field with you! @ckirk You're a great person, friend, and player. Your best days are ahead! I'll always be in your corner (except maybe twice a year). Love you brother," Lawrence wrote.

Engram and Kirk joined the Jags in 2022. Right off the bat, they became offensive mainstays, playing a role in the team's playoff run that year. However, injuries hindered their production last year, and the team's brass decided to move in a different direction.

Releasing Engram will create $5.9 million in space while trading Kirk created $10.4 million in space. On the other hand, Morse's retirement came as a bit of a surprise from an outside perspective. Then again, he probably discussed the team in prior days, so the Jags were ready. The move frees up a bit over $700,000.

What's next for the Jaguars and Trevor Lawrence after the roster cuts?

General manager James Gladstone is starting his stint with a bang, quickly getting rid of the many mistakes his predecessor Trent Baalke made. Granted, Evan Engram and Christian Kirk could've still helped in 2025, but the Jacksonville Jaguars decided to move on from them now and accelerate the rebuild overhaul.

The downside is that the Jags will have their work cut out this offseason. Aside from needing to find a starting cornerback, bolster the safety group, and beef up the offensive line, they must now revamp the wide receiver corps and the tight end unit. Working in their favor is that once all the moves are processed, they'll have over $60 million in space.

Add the fact that the Jags have 10 draft picks, and they should have no trouble giving the roster a makeover. So yes, Trevor Lawrence will miss his teammates but he'll soon get a few ones that will help him turn things around.
