The Jacksonville Jaguars have been on a late-season surge that could easily propel them to their first Super Bowl appearance. The Jags are guaranteed a spot in the playoffs this year, and chances are that they will only improve even more in 2026.
Earlier in the season, Jacksonville was having major problems with its wide receiver corps, particularly after star rookie Travis Hunter ended up on injured reserve. But Parker Washington was the exception, with a stunning hot streak that no one saw coming.
The former Penn State Nittany Lion has had back-to-back 100-yard receiving games, with 14 receptions for 260 yards and a touchdown on 20 targets the last two games. He was never meant to be the Jaguars' WR1, but he's making a strong case for himself with his performance this season. And a big part of it has to be his chemistry with quarterback Trevor Lawrence.
Jaguars WR Parker Washington keeps earning hype, and Trevor Lawrence is all in
Washington came to Jacksonville in 2023 and said he and Lawrence were able to build a bond during his rookie season. And that has only grown stronger over the years, with Washington noting that the two would spend time together watching film and doing walkthroughs.
And with his breakout this season, Lawrence himself has noticed Washington's growth. In a recent press conference, he had great things to say, including about how the third-year receiver has taken advantage of the opportunity in front of him.
“All season he’s just done an awesome job with every opportunity he’s gotten and now you look at his role and what he’s been doing for our offense. It’s been huge.”@trevorlawrence on @CPW11_. pic.twitter.com/DpoChYN085

"I think all season he's just done an awesome job with every opportunity he's gotten, and now you look at his role, and what he's been doing for our offense," Lawrence said. "It's been huge, and just his ability to run every route, to run after the catch, all those hidden yards that he's finding after the catch, has been really big for us. So we got to continue to find ways to get him the ball and let him make plays."
The Jaguars have their final game Sunday against the Tennessee Titans, a weak team that should be an easy win. But regardless, there is a lot riding on this week. The Jags can win the AFC South if they defeat the Titans, and clinch the No. 1 seed in the conference if both the New England Patriots and the Denver Broncos lose as well.
So yes, there is a lot at stake for Jacksonville, and the team can't afford to be cavalier because Tennessee is terrible. Thankfully, Parker Washington is on fire, and with him and Lawrence together, there is every chance that the Jaguars will have another incredible offensive performance.
