Travis Hunter not the only player turning heads at Jaguars rookie minicamp

Two-way star Travis Hunter was the talk of the town in Jaguars rookie minicamp, and rightly so. Already, the second-overall pick is getting fans hyped up, and he's only gotten a few reps. However, he wasn't the only player who turned heads. In fact, fourth-round pick Bhayshaul Tuten is showcasing his talent with the chances he's getting.

Throughout Day 2 of rookie minicamp, Tuten partook in drills that allowed him to showcase his footwork. Here's a clip of the former Virginia Tech Hokie, via Gus Logue of 1010 XL.

Here's another video. This one via J.P. Shadrick of the team's official website.

And because why not? Here's another clip where you can see Tuten's speed and ability to cut.

Tuten posted the best 40-yard dash, vertical jump, and 10-yard sprint among running backs in the NFL scouting combine. The Jaguars surely can't wait to see him put that speed on display.

Of course, context is necessary. This is only rookie camp, so you won't see Tuten running behind the offensive line or going against the defense. At this point in the offseason, players are limited to individual or group coaching. Similarly, live contact and offense vs. defense drills are not permitted.

Nevertheless, it's encouraging to see Tuten taking advantage of the reps his getting. The alternative would be that he looked sloppy or struggled to hold onto the football despite the fact that he's not getting touched. Fortunately, that's not the case.

Bhayshul Tuten is doing exaclty what he needs in Jaguars rookie minicamp

The Jacksonville Jaguars currently don't have an official depth chart, and veterans have yet to show up. Nevertheless, it's reasonable to expect Bhayshul Tuten to start Organized Team Activities (OTAs) behind Tank Bigsby and Travis Hunter on the depth chart. Then again, he should have a legitimate chance to work his way up.

Following the NFL Draft, Jeremy Fowler of ESPN shared tidbits about all 32 teams and reported that he's hearing the Jacksonville Jaguars may not be particularly high on either Travis Etienne or Tank Bigsby. Given that there's a new regime in place, both of them could be on equal footing, which could pave the way for Tuten to earn the RB1 job. Of course, it won't be a clear path.

Tuten has his work cut out if he wants to be at the top of the depth chart or be the primary backup at running back. For starters, he'll need to fix his fumble issues. He's lost nine the past two years, and won't get much playing time unless he shows he can hold onto the football. Similarly, he'll need to do a better job of not bouncing outside and following his blocks. The good news is that both flaws are correctable with coaching.

The bottom line is that it won't be a walk in the park to get ahead of Tank Bigsby and Tank Bigsby on the depth chart, but he's off to a good start. Heck, nobody will bat an eye if he makes Etienne expendable after training camp.
