Once the Jacksonville Jaguars hit their stride in 2025, their offense was among the best in the league. Having said that, their defense was also pretty good. With defensive coordinator Anthony Campanile returning for another season, the Jags should once again have a pretty good group. Heck, this year's version could be even better, even after losing linebacker Devin Lloyd in free agency.
Having said that, all of Jacksonville's division foes made several moves in the offseason in an effort to challenge them for the AFC South title. The Tennessee Titans, in particular, could give the Jags trouble after adding reinforcements to their wide receiver corps.
The Jaguars must beware of the Titans wide receiver corps
Moe Moton of Bleacher Report discussed the most improved position groups across the NFL and included the Titans wide receiver corps, arguing that rookie Carnell Tate and Wan'Dale Robinson will give the group a massive boost.
"In 2025, quarterback Cam Ward relied on then-rookie fourth-rounders Elic Ayomanor and Chimere Dike as his two targets in the passing game," Moton wrote. "Calvin Ridley missed 10 games and finished with just 17 receptions for 303 scoreless yards. This year, Ridley, Ayomanor, and Dike may be the third, fourth, and fifth receiver options in the Tennessee Titans' passing offense."
Moton goes on to say that he expects Robinson to have a big role after posting the first 1,000-yard season of his career. Similarly, he thinks Tate could be highly productive under offensive coordinator Brian Daboll, who also managed to get Pro Bowl campaigns out of Malik Nabers and Stefon Diggs when he coached them.
With an improved Cam Ward behind center, the Titans are definitely in a position to make noise next season. Heck, they ranked 24th in ESPN's offensive weapons power ranking. This doesn't mean that they'll be an offensive powerhouse, but they could most definitely give the Jags fits.
Montaric Brown and Travis Hunter will help the Jaguars stop the Titans
The Jaguars already know what Calvin Ridley is capable of doing. The former Alabama standout has struggled with drops throughout his career, but when he's dialed in, he's hard to cover. With Carnell Tate and Wan'Dale Robinson, he will have more favorable matchups. That will allow him to put up good numbers even if he is no longer WR1.
Sure, there's no doubt that Tennessee overpaid for Robinson, but that doesn't take anything away from the impact he'll have next season. Of course, the biggest unknown is Tate, who could make an impact from the get-go or take a bit of time to put it all together. Either way, Jacksonville must be prepared to contain him.
The good news is that the Jaguars have the firepower to contain Cam Ward and the Tennessee offense. Travis Hunter is slated to play cornerback full-time next season. He'll start opposite Montaric Brown. With Jourdan Lewis and Jarrian Jones also in the mix, Jacksonville has the personnel to go toe-to-toe with the Titans receivers.
With Antonio Johnson and Eric Murray protecting the back end of the defense, Ward will have trouble successfully dialing up deep shots.
This doesn't mean that the Jaguars can take Tennessee lightly next season, but they most definitely have the firepower to repel them.
