Although the Jacksonville Jaguars failed to win many games in 2024, it looked like Tank Bigsby was on his way to becoming an offensive mainstay. That year, his violent running style was on full display, and he even outplayed fellow running back Travis Etienne.
But a new regime took over in 2025, and Bigsby was shipped to the Philadelphia Eagles just a few games into the regular season. Just recently, though, he said that landing in Philly was a life-changing blessing.
But following the underwhelming Week 3 loss to the Chicago Bears, Bigsby is finding out that the grass isn't always greener on the other side.
Tank Bigsby isn't finding much success after the Jaguars traded him
The Jaguars traded Tank Bigsby in 2025 because they were stacked at running back at the time. It didn't help that he might have had a me-first attitude. Either way, the Jacksonville running game did just fine without him, due to the backfield tandem of Travis Etienne and Bhayshul Tuten.
The Jags are in even better shape after Etienne bolted for the New Orleans Saints in the offseason. But what about Bigsby? The truth is that he's not doing particularly well.
Once he was traded to the Eagles, Bigsby took on return duties. He didn't flourish in that role but eventually became the primary backup behind Saquon Barkley. The former Auburn Tiger had some success, toting the rock 58 times for 344 yards with two touchdowns. That might've led him to come up with his life-changing blessing remarks.
However, Bigsby has been underwhelming in 2025. He had 13 carries for 33 yards in Week 3 but only had one in the loss to Chicago. Compounding the issue is that he had one catch and promptly fumbled the football.
Understandably, the Eagles aren't leaning on Bigsby too much, and unless he bounces back, he probably won't see a big workload anytime soon.

The Jaguars should feel great about trading Tank Bigsby
While Tank Bigsby is off to an underwhelming start, the Jaguars are watching Bhayshul Tuten flourish into a RB1. The former Virginia Tech Hokie has thrived this season, toting the rock 43 times for 207 yards with two touchdowns.
Basically, Tuten has pretty much matched Tuten's production from 2025 in just three games! On top of that, Jacksonville got two draft selections in 2026 in return for him. When you add it all up, the Jags should feel great about the trade.
Circling back to Tuten's remarks, it's fair to wonder if he just wanted out of Duval because he wasn't the main guy in the backfield. Granted, it's only hearsay, and there are no legitimate reports that he was truly unhappy. That said, there could be some truth to the rumors. After all, the organization has put an emphasis on finding intangibly rich players, players who love football and are gritty, since the new regime took over in 2025. Bigsby didn't appear to fit the bill.
Now, Tank Bigsby can feel however he feels, and if he truly feels the trade changed his life, bless his heart. That said, the Jaguars aren't losing any sleep without him on the team.
