The Jacksonville Jaguars made a strong attempt to fortify the offensive line in the offseason. After adding a pair of starters and depth in free agency, they used a pair of draft picks on Wyatt Milum and Jonah Monheim. The former made it clear from the very beginning that he won't let Trevor Lawrence get touched, and later doubled down on his comment.

After rookie minicamp, Milum reiterated during an exchange with the local media that he won't let Lawrence get touched, pointing out that he takes pride in keeping his quarterback's jersey clean.

"I felt like I mean it when I say something, just going back, not to talk too much about college, but I felt like that's something I took pride in," Milum responded when asked if he's gotten any flak for his comments. "I've always taken pride in, and especially if you're playing online, you don't want no one touching a quarterback. And I feel like that's the mindset here, especially that's one reason why I love playing here already, is just the mindset that we have on this offensive line. We don't want no one touching Trevor."

Later in the exchange, Milum said that he's thrilled to work with offensive line Shaun Sarrett.

"Coach Sean. He's a great online coach. He brings energy the room, how they work that room when, like, they're teaching and stuff. They make sure we know before we go out here. So I love playing for him already. I can't wait to play for him down the road," Milum said.

MIlum was the 89th overall pick in this year's draft. Right after he got his name called, he vowed to protect Lawrence. General manager James Gladstone, for his part, said that the former West Virginia Mountaineer brings ample experience and intangible elements to the O-Line room.

Wyatt Milum will be part of the revamped O-Line the Jaguars gave Trevor Lawrence

As intriguing as Wyatt Milum is, he will need to work his way up the depth chart to protect Trevor Lawrence. At this stage of the offseason, he may be the No. 2 left guard behind incumbent Ezra Cleveland.

And while Cleveland has been underwhelming, he could benefit from a fresh start and Shaun Sarrett's arrival. The fact that he played through injuries last year also suggests that he won't give up the starting job as easily. On the other hand, Milum has the skill set to make you think that he can challenge him at some point in his rookie campaign.

A four-year left tackle at the collegiate level, Milum will be making the switch to guard in Jacksonville. He's certainly got the power and athleticism to develop into a viable starter in the pros, but may need time to put it all together.

All things considered, Milum has the moxie you want to see in an offensive lineman, and nobody will bat an eye if he outplays Cleveland and ends up in the starting lineup.
