The Jacksonville Jaguars may be ready to move on from Brian Thomas Jr. Although they have been reluctant to trade him in the past, they benched him because of his drop issues in the loss to the Houston Texans in Week 6. When you factor in that the 2024 first-round pick has failed to take advantage of his opportunities for a while, it's hard to picture him sticking around in Duval.
The Jags are coming off their BYE and may want to start giving more snaps and targets to rookie Josh Cameron and two-way star Travis Hunter. Trading Thomas would allow them to do just that. If the team makes him available at the deadline, he'll have no shortage of suitors. One team, in particular, may have just become an intriguing landing spot after beating the Las Vegas Raiders in Week 7.
The LA Rams need to call the Jaguars about Brian Thomas Jr.
After a slow start to the season, the Los Angeles Rams are now 3-4 following the win over Las Vegas in Week 7. Had they lost, they might have had a hard time getting back on track. Granted, the Rams still have a long way to go to make the playoffs but remain in the thick of the NFC West. And to increase their odds, they could strongly consider adding reinforcements. That's where Brian Thomas Jr. comes in.
Los Angeles could use help at receiver, even though Puka Nacua managed to reel in six receptions for 68 yards with one touchdown against the Raiders. That's because Davante Adams will miss six to eight weeks with a hamstring injury. Nacua himself hasn't been truly healthy this season, so Matthew Stafford could use another weapon in his arsenal. Taking a flyer on Thomas would be a risky bet but one worth making.
After all, Thomas has deep threat capabilities and still remains the talented receiver who hauled in 82 catches for 1,282 yards with 10 touchdowns as a rookie. For some reason, though, No. 7 hasn't been able to flourish under the regime that took over the Jags in 2025.
Despite his struggles, though, the team's brass has shown trust in Thomas. However, Jacksonville can no longer justify giving him chances after his disappointing showing this season. Knowing that general manager James Gladstone has a good working relationship with the Rams — he was an executive for them before becoming the general manager in Jacksonville — they could be a realistic trade destination for the former LSU Tiger.
If someone could revive Thomas' career, it's Sean McVay one of the brightest offensive minds in the NFL head coach Liam Coen's former mentor.

Why the Jaguars could trade Brian Thomas Jr. to the LA Rams
The Washington Commanders could be a trade destination for Brian Thomas Jr. because of his connection with Jayden Daniels, his quarterback at LSU. The same is true for the New York Giants due to the presence of Malik Nabers and wide receivers coach Chad Hall, his position coach in his rookie season.
Having said that, the Jaguars will most likely send Thomas (if he's available) to the club that makes the best offer rather than his best landing spot. That could make the Rams a viable suitor.
The one roadblock Los Angeles faces to acquire Thomas is that it doesn't have a first-round pick in 2027 after trading for star pass rusher Myles Garrett. Similarly, the Rams gave up their third-round pick to acquire cornerback Trent McDuffie. Then again, they could offer their second-rounder next year and maybe another pick in 2028. Simply put, they can't be ruled out as a destination for the third-year wideout.
Teams that want to make a playoff push often trade for help to get over the bump. The Rams could do just that with Brian Thomas Jr. There's still time to get a deal done before the deadline.
