The Jacksonville Jaguars won't be having any top-30 visits under general manager James Gladstone, but that hasn't stopped them from putting in the work behind the scenes. They've already met with several prospects ahead of the NFL Draft. That includes Wofford cornerback Amir Annoor, who's confirmed that he's met with the Jags.

Annoor had a sitdown with Justin Melo of The Draft Network and confirmed that he's talked to Jacksonville.

"I’ve met in some capacity with the Patriots, Packers, Rams, Browns, Panthers, Dolphins, Buccaneers, Jaguars, Broncos, Eagles, Ravens. Some of these teams contacted my coaching staff about me. I met with a few of them at Pro Day. They were all in attendance to watch me perform. I also attended the Titans’ local day."

Annoor tested well at his Pro Day, running the 40-yard dash in the high 4.3s. At 5'11 and 180 pounds, he has the size to play inside or outside. Add the fact that he returned punts at Wofford, and he could become an intriguing option for teams in need of cornerback and special-teams depth.

Granted, Annoor is projected to go undrafted, but he could garner interest as a free agent. The Jaguars will currently have 59 roster spots and will enter the draft with 10 draft picks. If they don't make any deals and make the 10 selections, they'll have 21 spots available for undrafted free agents, according to Over The Cap. This is to say that Jacksonville could prioritize Annoor once the draft is over.

Amir Annoor could compete for a roster spot with the Jaguars

Cornerback remains a need for the Jacksonville Jaguars even though they signed Jourdan Lewis in free agency. In fact, they're expected to address the position early in the draft, perhaps in Rounds 2 or 3, but nobody would bat an eye if they double-dip on Day 3 or once the draft is over.

In Jacksonville, Amir Annoor would join a group that includes Lewis, Jarrian Jones, Tyson Campbell, Montaric Brown, and DeAntre Prince. He would need to compete for a roster spot, but signing to the practice squad would be a more realistic outcome.

Last year, the Jaguars signed 13 undrafted free agents, and nobody made the initial 53-man roster. Wide receiver Joshua Cephus III was eventually elevated to the active roster but only logged six offensive snaps in total. This is to say that Annoor would have a steep hill to climb in Jacksonville.

In the end, signing a projected undrafted free agent like Amir Annoor doesn't come with much risk. In fact, the Jaguars could uncover a potential gem, so it won't be shocking to see them make an aggressive effort to land him or any other prospects with intriguing upside.
