What channel is the Jaguars vs. Buccaneers game on today? How to watch & listen
The Jacksonville Jaguars wrapped up two days of joint practices with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and are now ready to face them in Week 2 of the 2024 NFL Preseason. All things considered, the Jags should feel good about their chances of coming out with a win, even if it won't count in the standings.
Coming off a 26-13 victory over the Kansas City Chiefs in the preseason opener, Jacksonville had a fruitful week of practice. The offensive line showed early cracks but Trevor Lawrence still managed to build a connection with their receivers. Brian Thomas Jr. is slowly becoming one of his favorite targets while Parker Washington is building off a promising performance against the Chiefs.
On the other hand, defensive coordinator Ryan Nielsen has his unit working at full steam. Josh Hines-Allen and Travon Walker were able to get after the quarterback in practice but they also proved that they can stymie the run. Erick Hallett II and Andre Cisco, for their part, made several big plays on Day 2 of practice.
This begs the question, what should the Jags expect from Tampa Bay in Week 2 of the preseason? Head coach Doug Pederson believes the Buccaneers defense presents an interesting challenge.
"It's a versatile defense in the sense that you can mix fronts, you can play with more linebackers, less D-Linemen, and vice versa. Pressures... disguises, he does a great job of that," Pederson told the local media when asked what fellow head coach Todd Bowles brings to the table. "He just go back to our game last year and some of the things he did, and that's what makes it a challenge, because what he shows you, maybe the week before is not necessarily what you're going to see in your game."
Pederson also made the point that the Jaguars won't be scheming and the emphasis will be on execution. On somewhat of an unrelated note, Trevor Lawrence won't be suiting up.
Mac Jones and C.J. Beathard will take turns behind center in an effort to decide who'll win the backup quarterback job. So don't be surprised if you see No. 16 on the sidelines. With that in mind, here's how to watch & listen to the Jags take on the Buccaneers in Week 2 of the Preseason.
