What channel is the Jaguars-Dolphins game on today? Start time, announcers, and more
The Jacksonville Jaguars are looking to put their disappointing end to 2023 behind. The issue is that they'll get to face the Miami Dolphins and their high-octane offense to start the regular season.
While the Jags will play several high-powered offenses in 2024, none may be as talented as the Phins'. Head coach Doug Pederson met with the local media ahead of Week 1 and talked about the challenges the Miami offense presents. What's the biggest one in his opinion?
"Speed, speed, speed, and a lot of misdirection, a lot of motions and shifts, "Pederson responded when asked what comes to mind when he thinks of the Dolphins. "[They] do a great job with that in their run game as well, and it kind of can cause you to distort your eyes a little bit, and get off your cues. That's where some of the big plays have come for them. We know Tyreek [Hill] and [Jaylen] Waddle, the guys, just a lot of speed and something that we've gotta be able to at least try to match otherwise be in the right position."
Pederson went on to say that this kind of speed is hard to defend, "they're on you fast right when you put the film on these guys are on you, and they're by you. I think Tua [Tagovailoa] does a great job of anticipating where the windows are, where the holes are going to be, and receivers in the right spot"
Tyreek Hill had a thumb injury and sat out all preseason games. He was back in practice the week before the game and is good to go. The same is true for fellow receiver Jaylen Waddle, who had an undisclosed ailment and is at full strength for the season opener.
Last year, the Dolphins ranked second in points scored and led the league in total yards. Now that you know what awaits the Jaguars in Week 1, here's how you can watch the game today.

Jaguars-Dolphins recent outcomes:
Even though the Jaguars and Dolphins are intrastate neighbors, they've only faced off against each other 11 times (including one postseason game) since the former was founded. Surprisingly, Miami holds the all-time lead with a 6-5 record.
The last time these two clubs played, they did it at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in 2021 as part of the NFL's International Game Series. That year, Trevor Lawrence was a rookie and Urban Meyer was the head coach. On the opposite sideline, Brian Flores was the head coach and Tua Tagovailoa was a sophomore. The Jags came out on top thanks to a last-minute field goal by then-kicker Matthew Wright. That was their first win of the year and one of three they had.
Hopefully, the Jaguars won't have to wait five games to get their first win of the season like they did in 2021 and come out of South Florida on top.
