Way-too-early predictions for all 13 Jacksonville Jaguars draftees in 2023
Way-too-early predictions for all 13 Jaguars' draftees in 2023: Rounds 6, 7
Erick Hallett II, S - Round 6, pick 208: 5 games, no starts
While Hallet was a safety at Pitt, he's been lining up at cornerback at Jaguars' rookie minicamp. While the team needed to replenish their cornerback room, Hallett will have a steep hill to climb to make the 53-man roster. In fact, there's a chance he'll start the 2023 season in the practice squad.
If Hallett does get playing time in his rookie season, expect him to see action on special teams. For the time being, being active for five games seems like a fair projection for the Texas native.
Cooper Hodges, G - Round 7, pick 226: Practice squad project
Even though left guard is one of the team's biggest question marks ahead of the 2023 season, Cooper on the roster faces an uphill battle to make the 53-man roster. He might need to spend a season in the practice squad before he's ready for his pro debut.
Raymond Vohasek, DT - Round 7, pick 227: Practice squad, special teams
The Jaguars' defensive front was in need of depth after the 2022 season, so the team's brass made several additions to the trenches in free agency and the draft. One of them was sixth-round pick Raymond Vohasek, who will need to compete for a roster spot in training camp.
Just like Hodges, Vohasek may start the regular season in the practice squad but could be promoted to the active roster a few times if injuries strike.
Derek Parish, FB, Round 7, pick 240: 17 games, 5 carries
As a fullback, Derek Parish will probably have a better chance of making the team than both Raymond Vohasek and Cooper Hodges. However, his main role will be plowing holes for Travis Etienne and Tank Bigsby, so don't expect him to get lots of carries outside goal-line and red-line situations.
