No. 3 Jaguars player under 25 in 2023: Andre Cisco, S

Current age: 23

Andre Cisco was a ballhawk in college, registering 14 passes defended and 13 interceptions in 24 games. If he had entered the 2021 draft with a clean bill of health, he would have most likely been a first-round selection. However, a lower-body injury in 2019 and an ACL tear in 2020 made him slide to Round 3, where general manager Trent Baalke chose him 65th overall.

Cisco managed to stay healthy in the offseason and seemed on his way to starting as a rookie. But the coaching staff instead gave the nod to Andrew Wingard. Even though Cisco spent most of the 2021 season on the sidelines, he was eventually thrust into action and put on display the kind of skills he brought to the Jacksonville secondary.

Not surprisingly, Cisco started the 2022 season next to veteran Rayshawn Jenkins and rewarded the coaching staff with solid secondary play. The Queens, New York native ended up appearing in 15 games and registering 73 total tackles, three interceptions, and 10 passes defended.

In retrospect, Baalke deserves credit for betting on Cisco despite the fact that he entered the draft with the dreaded injury-risk label, as he's remained mostly healthy over the last two years, missing just two games in that span.

You won't probably hear about Cisco being a top-10 safety in the NFL ahead of the 2023 season but if he keeps improving and his interceptions totals go up, he will most likely join the conversation.
