The Jacksonville Jaguars clearly won the 2021 NFL Draft

The 2021 NFL Draft was a crazy one. As everyone knows, the quarterback is the most important position in all of sports as it impacts the winner and loser of a game the most.

Well, that 2021 draft was loaded with talent at the quarterback position. There were a total of five taken in the first round.

Of course, the Jaguars selected Trevor Lawrence with the first overall pick in the draft. He was an elite prospect coming out of Clemson and they had a lot of hope for him.

The next two picks were quarterbacks as well as the New York Jets selected Zach Wilson and the San Francisco 49ers selected Trey Lance.

Later in the first round, the Chicago Bears moved up from pick 20 to pick 11 to select Justin Fields. Mac Jones went to the New England Patriots a few selections later at 15.

The Jacksonville Jaguars did very well in the 2021 NFL Draft.

There is a chance that all of those guys still pan out but Trevor Lawrence is clearly the top guy there. The Jaguars were lucky to be picking at number one because they got their guy.

Lawrence, more than any of those other quarterbacks taken, has proven that he can be an elite player in this league.

Justin Fields and Mac Jones are also good starters but they have yet to reach the status that Lawrence has near the top of the league.

Trey Lance might be the odd man out in San Francisco while Aaron Rodgers has taken over for Zach Wilson in New York so they are a wild card right now.

Sometimes, it is better to be lucky than good. Well, the Jaguars were a little bit of both when they drafted and developed Lawrence. Now, it is about seeing what level he can get to next.

Lawrence also wasn't the only first-round selection that year for Jacksonville. They also took running back Travis Etienne who was Lawrence's teammate at Clemson.

That turned out to be a fantastic selection as well as Etienne has had a marvelous start to his NFL career as well. As mentioned before, the Jaguars were clearly one of the winners from that 2021 draft.
