Texans vs. Jaguars best anytime touchdown scorer picks

The Jaguars didn't reach the end zone in Week 2, but they will turn it around this week against the Texans.

Week 2 was frustrating for the Jacksonville Jaguars on offense. They kept getting the red zone and coming up short.

Ultimately, it ended up in a 17-9 loss to the Chiefs to drop them to 1-1 and after a game with no touchdowns. This week, we’ll try to pick a few TD scorers for Jacksonville against the 0-2 Houston Texans.

Houston gave up 31 points last week, so we could be in business with our three picks. Now, let’s get into my anytime TD picks.

Texans vs. Jaguars anytime touchdown scorer picks

  • Zay Jones +160
  • Trevor Lawrence +280
  • D’Ernest Johnson +1200

Zay Jones +160

The guy (Zay Jones) just could not get his feet down in bounds last week. He had multiple opportunities to snag a touchdown, but ended up out of bounds.

In fact, he has just one TD through two weeks, but leads wide receivers in red zone targets with five. That type of volume in the red zone is worth backing despite Jones finishing the game against the Chiefs without a catch.

Jones is listed as day-to-day with a knee injury.

Trevor Lawrence +280

Last week against the Colts, the Texans allowed three rushing touchdowns and two of those were run in by Anthony Richardson.

Lawrence is the team’s second leading rusher this year and ran for five touchdowns last season.

D’Ernest Johnson +1200

The Jaguars completely went away from Tank Bigsby after he scored a touchdown on the ground in Week 1.

Last week, Bigsby had no carries and Johnson had one carry for eight yards and one catch for nine. It’s a longshot, but if Johnson is the RB2, then he could get a shot at the end zone and I like this value.
