Coming off a playoff trip and a division title, the Jacksonville Jaguars didn't have to make any splash signings in free agency and instead focused on restacking most position groups. But that didn't stop Garrett Powell of CBS Sports from giving him a low spot in his roster-building ranking.

Looking at the Jags' place in the ranking, you could think that they had a subpar offseason but that wasn't the case. In fact, they made several key moves that should have a huge impact in 2023, including the next five:

5. The Jaguars brought back Andrew Wingard and other key free agents

While it's true that the Jaguars didn't go after any big-name players in free agency, they made sure to bring back most of their own players. Besides giving long-term deals to defensive linemen DaVon Hamilton and Roy Robertson-Harris, they also re-signed safety Andrew Wingard.

All of them filled important roles last season even if they didn't get the spotlight nearly as often as some of their teammates. And precisely because the top brass recognizes what they bring to the table, they ensured they didn't go anywhere.

Sure, the Jaguars couldn't keep everyone from walking in free agency but they still managed to keep most of last year's core together despite the fact that they were working with a limited amount of cap space.

Overall, the Jacksonville front office deserves credit for rewarding their own players when you take into account that the previous regime often opted to let their players go somewhere else or trade them for future assets.
