Jaguars Too-Early 2023 Season Awards: Offensive Rookie of the Year, Anton Harrison, RT

Offensive linemen don't usually get consideration for Offensive Rookie of the Year honors, which tend to go to wide receivers, running backs, and quarterbacks. Nevertheless, Anton Harrison could become a fixture of the Jaguars' offensive trenches right off the bat.

Having let Jawaan Taylor walk in free agency, it looked like Jacksonville was going to go with Walker Little at right tackle in 2023 but instead drafted Harrison 27th overall. Even though Harrison mostly lined up on the left side at Oklahoma, the Jaguars' brass believed he's equipped to make the transition to right tackle.

So far, Harrison's been everything Jacksonville expected and will make his NFL debut against the Colts. While he'll have a few growing pains, he'll also solidify the right tackle spot and prove the Jags made the right decision when they let Taylor sign with the Kansas City Chiefs.

Jaguars Too-Early 2023 Season Awards: Defensive Rookie of the Year, Yasir Abdullah, EDGE

The Jaguars' first pick on defense this year came until the fourth round when they chose Oklahoma State defensive lineman Tyler Lacy. In the following round, they took edge rusher Yasir Abdullah, who excelled at Louisiana despite the fact that he lacks the prototypical size at the position.

Abdullah didn't make much noise in training camp but flashed in the preseason. Without any established options behind Travon Walker and Josh Allen, expect Abdullah to get lots of opportunities. He won't be much of a factor early on but his role should increase as the season progresses.
