The Jackosnville Jaguars will be without a handful of key players when they face the New Orleans Saints in Week 7. On the bright side, there's a chance Trevor Lawrence will suit up for Thursday Night Football.

The Jags have ruled out cornerback Tyson Campbell, wide receiver Zay Jones, offensive lineman Walker Little and defensive lineman DaVon Hamilton. Meanwhile, Lawrence and right guard Brandon Scherff got the questionable tag for Thursday's bout.

Of all the names that popped up on the Jacksonville injury report, Hamilton probably stands out. The former Ohio State Buckeye suffered a non-football back injury in the preseason and was placed on Injured Reserve to start the 2023 season. His 21-day window to practice was opened last week and was a full participant ahead of Week 7. However, it looks like he'll need a bit more time before he returns.

Zay Jones Jones and Walker Little missed Week 6 and is uncertain when they'll return. The former has been dealing with a knee injury while the latter hurt his MCL against the Buffalo Bills in Week 5.

Brandon Scherff suffered an ankle injury against the Indianapolis Colts in Week 6. Blake Hance filled in for him and will most likely get the start if Scherff isn't good to go against the Saints. Similarly, C.J. Beathard will be behind center if Lawrence isn't available.

As a cautionary measure, the Jaguars have signed Nathan Rourke to the active roster. Due to the new rule that allows teams to dress a third quarterback and he won't count against the 53-man roster, Rourke won't take up a roster spot. However, he will only be able to take the field if either Lawrence or Beathard goes down.

Both the Jaguars and Saints are dealing with injuries ahead of Thursday

Lawrence may or may not play against the Saints. He says his knee feels fine but the Jaguars can still win with Beathard at the helm. One big reason is that New Orleans is dealing with several injuries of their own. Tight end Jawuan Johnson (calf), safety J.T Gray (hamstring), offensive tackle Landon Young (hip), left guard James Hurst (ankle), and right tackle Ryan Ramczyk (concussion) have been ruled out. Linebacker Demario Davis and safety Tyrann Mathieu are questionable to play.

Although Saints quarterback Derek Carr has been dealing with a shoulder injury, he was listed as a full participant in practice ahead of Thursday. That said, not having Hurst and Ramczyk will hurt the offensive line's ability to protect their quarterback. Conversely, it will help the Jaguars' defensive front bring the heat.

As of this writing, the New Orleans Saints are a 1-point favorite for Thursday, so the game is basically a toss-up despite the fact that it will be held at the Superdome. It's fair to say that with or without Trevor Lawrence, the Jacksonville Jaguars will have a favorable chance to come out of The Big Easy with their fifth win of the season.
