Jaguars OLB Josh Allen pulls hat trick vs. Bills: 5 bold predictions for Week 5
No. 2 Jaguars RB Travis Etienne will get his first 100-yard game of the season
Despite the fact that Travis Etienne made a full recovery from the Lisfranc injury he suffered in 2021, he started the 2022 season behind James Robinson on the depth chart. Eventually, Etienne's workload increased and made Robinson expendable. As the year progressed, he became a key cog on the Jags offense. However, he hasn't been able to replicate his success in 2023.
So far, Etienne has toted the rock 69 times for 260 yards with one touchdown and has averaged a paltry 3.8 yards per carry, more than one full yard less than last 2022. That said, he's still the explosive player he was last year. Simply, he hasn't found enough openings in the line of scrimmage. With the return of Cam Robinson to the lineup and Walker Little's switch to left guard, that should change against Buffalo.
If the offensive line does step up and pave the way for Etienne, he will end the game with over 100 yards, which would be a season best.
No. 1 Jaguars QB Trevor Lawrence will outduel Josh Allen, throw 3 TDs, no INTs vs. Bills
Trevor Lawrence picked up where he left off last year, even if the statline doesn't show it. He's still got the touch, arm strength and accuracy he displayed in 2022. However, he hasn't gotten much help from the offensive line. Without optimal protection, Steezy Trev has been forced to scramble and get rid of the ball faster than he would surely like.
The good news is that reinforcements are in the way. Just like in the running game, Robinson will give the Jaguars' pass protection a boost. You could argue that Robinson hasn't played in a while and may be rusty but that's because he was suspended, not because of health issues. The former Alabama product has had a good week of practice and is ready to roll Sunday.
With Robinson in the fold, Lawrence will get much better protection, which in turn will lead to more time to throw and make plays. Lawrence will finish the game with three touchdowns and no interceptions if the offensive line does their job.
