The Jacksonville Jaguars have assembled a well-rounded roster that has lots of star power and depth. However, their pass rush rotation remains a question mark heading into the 2023 season. This is why the Bleacher Report scouting department has the Jags taking Chop Robinson in their latest 2024 NFL Mock Draft.

The NFL season just started Thursday but college football is already at full steam and B/R has already started keeping an eye on players that will potentially declared for the draft. Robinson is one of them and they believe he would be a great addition to the Jacskonville pass rush at No. 20. Here's what they had to say about the Penn State standout.

"Both Josh Allen and K'Lavon Chaisson are scheduled to be free agents in 2024. Chop Robinson's selection isn't aimed to outright replace them, specifically Allen. This draft selection can complement both a re-signed Allen and the 2022 No. 1 overall pick, Travon Walker.

"Besides having a great nickname for an edge-rusher, Chop Robinson is a good athlete who flies off the ball and has some impressive bend to turn a tight corner," Holder said. "He also sets up his moves well by getting to square on the offensive lineman to give himself a two-way go, which shows some nuance as a pass-rusher."

Despite the fact that Chop Robinson didn't crack the top 100 in sacks last season, Pro Football Focus dubbed him the best pass rusher in the country and one of the 50 best players in college football heading into 2023.

Robinson committed to Maryland, where he played outside linebacker. However, he entered the transfer portal and went to the Nittany Lions. He switched to defensive end last year and became a dominant presence in the defensive trenches, even if he wasn't reflected in his sack totals.

Having adjusted to playing with his hand in the ground in 2022, Robinson is expected to have an even bigger impact this season and rise up draft boards.

Chop Robinson would be a great addition to the Jaguars in 2024

The Jaguars' most glaring weakness heading into 2023 seems to be their pass rush so it would make sense if they address it next season. Outside linebacker Josh Allen and fellow first-round pick K'Lavon Chaisson are slated to become free agents next year. The former is expected to take his game to the next level this season and join the upper echelon of pass rushers while the latter hasn't done much to make you think he'll stay.

For the sake of the argument, let's say Allen becomes the pass rusher the Jaguars envision and Travon Walker makes a leap in Year 2. They could let K'Lavon Chaisson walk, along with Dawuane Smoot, in free agency and target Chop Robinson in the draft to round out their rotation.

Having said that, the draft is still several months away and many things can happen in the meantime. Maybe Chaisson manages to put it all together or it's possible that Yasir Abdullah steps up and becomes a key contributor in his rookie season. Similarly, it's hard to project what pick the Jaguars will get in 2024 but Chop Robinson, especially if he keeps improving, would most definitely be a great addition.

Right now, Jacksonville is in a favorable position to make the playoffs and win the AFC South. If that's the case, they'll select in the late 20s, and the farther they advance in the postseason, the lower the pick will be. Then again, that would mean they're good, and if that's the case, they won't mind not picking outside of the top 10 for the second straight year.
