2. The Jaguars 2022 draft class

This was an interesting draft class for a couple of reasons. First, Urban Meyer was no longer with the team and without his influence, general manager Trent Baalke could fully implement his vision. Another thing that affected the Jaguars' strategy was the presence of Trevor Lawrence.

Having drafted Lawrence the year before, Jacksonville wasn't in the market for a quarterback, so they had to decide how to best use the first overall pick in 2022. While they had their fair share of options, there wasn't a consensus No. 1 pick. In the end, the Jags bet on Travon Walker's upside.

The Jaguars knew Walker would need time to develop, so he might need another year before there's an accurate read on him. After taking the former Georgia Bulldog with the No. 1 pick, Jacksonville moved back into the first round to take linebacker Devin Lloyd. With their next two picks, both of them in the third round, they chose center Luke Fortner and linebacker Chad Muma.

Lloyd and Muma flashed last season and they will most likely compete for the starting job next to Foyesade Oluokun in training camp. On the other hand, Luke Fortner had growing pains but went on to start all 17 games. He should keep getting better in Year 2.

With their last three picks, the Jags took running back Snoop Conner (Round 5), and cornerbacks Gregory Junior (Round 6) and Montaric Brown (Round 7). So far, they haven't gotten much production from any of them but that's not uncommon from late-round selections.

All things considered, this draft class will look much better if Walker makes strides in Year 2 while either Muma or Lloyd plays at a Pro Bowl level in 2023.

Final Grade: B-
