The Jacksonville Jaguars are expecting to be one of the best teams in the NFL. They would love to take a step this year because after winning the division and a playoff game, taking a step would mean a big-time playoff run.

In order to be that successful in the NFL, you must have a great starting quarterback. Well, the Jaguars do have that with Trevor Lawrence.

Since making Lawrence the 2021 number-one pick out of Clemson, he has turned into one of the better players in the NFL.

Although Jaguars fans are starting to see it, it will take the rest of the world a minute to mention him with Patrick Mahomes, Josh Allen, and Joe Burrow. That is coming though if he keeps progressing at this rate.

Trevor Lawrence and the Jaguars are going to have a big year in 2023.

His head coach, Doug Pederson, made a bold claim about him this week. He said that he is someone that reminds him of the great quarterbacks we've seen in NFL history.

""Great quarterbacks that I've either played with, or we've watched in the NFL have all had that ability to make others better and really rise and bring the talent around him up," Doug Pederson said. "He's one of those guys."

Obviously, that quote speaks volumes.

He credits his ability to keep wanting to get better for a lot of his success. Of course, being just a very talented football player helps as well.

Pederson also mentions that Lawrence is one of those guys that likes to make others around him better. Of course, that trait should be a must when thinking about a franchise quarterback.

This is going to be a big year for Pederson, Lawrence, and the Jaguars. They have the talent in the room to go do something special.

The AFC is a gauntlet and that will make it difficult. But, you have to beat the best to be the best. Lawrence is the type of player that should expect being the best. He's pretty much been the best player at his level his entire life. Now, it is about getting there in the NFL.
