β’ Here's everything you need to know for the Week 2 matchup
The Jacksonville Jaguars got off to a good start to the 2023 season, beating the Indianapolis Colts in the season opener. If the Jags want to get a winning streak going, they'll then need to beat the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 2, which won't be an easy feat.
The defending Super Bowl champion Chiefs are coming off a loss to the Detroit Lions in Week 1 and they'll do their best to avoid a 0-2 start in 2023. With that in mind, here's everything you need to know for the game.
Jaguars vs. Chiefs Injury Report for Week 2 of the 2023 Season
The Jaguars are dealing with a headful of injuries heading into the bout. Starting right guard Brandon Scherff and sophomore center Luke Fortner are dealing with ankle injuries. They missed a few days of practice and are listed as questionable. However, head coach Doug Pederson already made it clear they'll both suit up. Similarly, defensive lineman Tyler Lacy is set to make his NFL debut after missing last week's bout (unless he's made inactive).
On the other hand, the Jags just placed cornerback Gregory Junior on short Injured Reserve, where he'll stay for at least four weeks before he's eligible to return. First-year defensive back Antonio Johnson continues to deal with a hamstring injury and needs more time before he can contribute. He's already been ruled out for the bout.
On the other side of the aisle, it's been announced that tight end Travis Kelce will play after an encouraging week of practice heading into the game. Kelce, one of Patrick Mahomes' most trusted targets missed the opener with a hyperextended knee injury.
Cornerback L'Jarius Snead was a limited participant in practice all week but got no designation, so he's good to go. Running back Clyde Edwards-Helaire, on the other hand, is listed as questionable with an illness.
