Christian Mahogany, RG: Round 3, pick 96

If the Jaguars pick in the second round, it will be because they either let Calvin Ridley hit the open market or they find a way to keep him around without signing him before free agency begins. In this scenario, the team's brass reached an informal agreement with him and signed him once after free agency started.

However, they did send the Atlanta Falcons their third-rounder as a part of the trade they made to acquire Ridley in 2022. It was either a second, or third. It was the latter after reaching certain playing conditions last year. Working in their favor is that the Jaguars are projected to get a compensatory third-round selection after losing right tackle Jawaan Taylor to the Kansas City Chiefs last offseason.

With that pick, the Jaguars select Christian Mahogany to bolster the right side of the offensive line. If you're keeping track, that gives Jacksonville a pair of young building blocks in the trenches. Veteran Brandon Scherff could be released to create $9 million in cap space. The Jags could either keep him and let him play out his contract, or move on from him and get a bit of breathing room. Either way, they would have Mahogany in the fold.

Mahogany played both guard positions at Boston College but made 23 starts on the right side. He needs to work on his footwork and be more patient but he's got the tools to develop into an NFL starter. In Jacksonville, he could learn behind Scherff of start if the veteran is released. Either way, he would provide stability at right guard in the long run.
