The Jacksonville Jaguars have their work cut out. Following an encouraging 3-0 preseason, they'll need to trim down their roster to 53 players by 4:00 p.m. ET on cutdown day. This year, it's August 27. This will be a difficult task when you take into account that this is the deepest Jags team head coach Doug Pederson has been on since taking over in 2022.

Of course, general manager Trent Baalke has control over roster decisions but he'll work in unison with Pederson to ensure Jacksonville ends with the best 53 players. Franchise cornerstones such as Trevor Lawrence, pass rusher Josh Hines-Allen and cornerback Tyson Campbell don't have to sweat about earning a spot.

On the other hand, there are several players on the bottom half of the depth chart who will give the team's brass several tough decisions to make. Jacksonville's stacked at wide receiver, linebacker, safety, and the interior defensive line.

This in turn will lead the team to move on from players they would like to keep. Then again, that's not necessarily a bad thing. As Pederson recently told the media, if the Jaguars are cutting ties with a good player, that means that they're keeping an even better one. Moreover, they'll get the chance to stash a few of them in the practice squad if they clear waivers.

With this in mind, here's a look at the the cuts the Jaguars are making ahead of roster cutdown day.

Following the win over the Atlanta Falcons, the Jags moved on from Denzel Mims. Tom Pelissero of NFL Media first reported the move. The Jaguars waive WR Brevin Easton on August 20

This one didn't come as a surprise. With several options at wide receiver, the Jags waived Brevin Easton before the preseason finale. He was a long shot to make the team and moving on from him allowed the Jaguars' brass to better asses the position.
