Jacksonville Jaguars Post-Draft 53-Man Roster Projection for the 2023 NFL Season
Jacksonville Jaguars Post-Draft 53-Man Roster Projection: Offense
The Jaguars carried only two quarterbacks last season and it's hard to see them reversing the trend in 2023. E.J. Perry, who spent last season in the practice squad was waived in the offseason and later claimed by the Houston Texans. Undrafted free agent Nathan Rourke will have a shot at taking his place in the practice squad.
Although JaMycal Hasty was the No. 2 running back on the depth chart, Tank Bigsby should beat him and D'Ernest Johnson for the right to back up Travis Etienne. Johnson has experience on special teams, so he should get a few snaps there but also get a couple carries per game.
Also, rookie Parker Washington should beat Tim Jones, who seized a roster spot after an impressive preseason but finished the regular season with just three catches.
Left tackle Cam Robinson doesn't appear on this 53-man roster because he will serve a suspension (probably to start the season) for violations to the league's performance-enhancing drug policy and players that are suspended don't count toward the 53-man roster.
Once Robinson serves his suspension, the Jaguars will need to free up a roster spot but that can be anyone, it doesn't have to be an offensive lineman, and could come from the defense.
Last but not least, the Jaguars will most likely carry four tight ends next season, and Gerrit Prince, who spent his rookie season in the practice squad, should have a good chance of making his regular-season debut.
