2. The Jaguars and the Vikings swap K'Lavon Chaisson for Danielle Hunter

Jaguars trade Danielle Hunter No. 2

As noted before, Minnesota already traded Za'Darius Smith to the Cleveland Browns earlier this year, and if they also part ways with Danielle Hunter, their pass rush will experience a huge dropoff in 2023. To lessen the impact of Hunter's potential departure, the Vikings could bring in another edge defender to take his place. Enter four-year outside linebacker K'Lavon Chaisson.

Jaguars defensive line coach Brentson Bucker recently spoke highly of Chaisson but the truth is that the 20th overall pick is running out of chances to make an impact in Jacksonville. Chaisson has tallied a paltry three sacks over the last three years and his playing time has progressively decreased. The fact that he missed a good chunk of the 2022 season with a meniscus injury didn't help matters and if he doesn't show out in training camp, he could be on his way out.

The Jags declined to pick up Chaisson's fifth-year option on his rookie deal and if they decide that he's not part of their long-term future, they might as well try to get something instead of outright releasing him.

The Vikings already tried to acquire Chaisson in 2021. Granted, there was a different regime in place but general manager Kwesi Adofo-Mensah would be getting a pass rusher that could benefit from a change of scenery on a relatively cheap deal.

To get a deal done, the Jags could throw in a fifth-round pick in exchange for a seventh-rounder. All things considered, this would be a win-win situation for both Jacksonville and the Vikings.
