Jaguars vs. Browns: Containing Myles Garrett, other keys to victory in Week 14
• Trevor Lawrence could play through his ankle sprain
• He'll need to get the best possible protection
1. Jaguars OLB Josh Allen must bring the heat to Joe Flacco, Dorian Thompson-Robinson
The Jaguars aren't the only team entering Week 14 with questions at quarterback. The Browns, for competitive purposes, haven't announced who will get the starting nod behind center, veteran Joe Flacco or rookie Dorian Thompson-Robinson.
Thompson-Robinson, who's made three starts this season, cleared the concussion protocol ahead of the game. On the other hand, Cleveland may go with Flacco's experience. Either way, wide receiver Amari Cooper, who was also in concussion protocol, will be suiting up Sunday. Having him in the fold will give either Thompson-Robinson or his veteran counterpart a No. 1 target to lean on.
With cornerback Tyson Campbell and nickel Tre Herndon already being ruled out, the Jags need to give their secondary as much help as possible. That's where bookend pass rushers Travon Walker and Josh Allen come in.
Cleveland has been without offensive tackles Jack Conklin and Jedrick Willis Jr. for most of the season but the offensive line has held the fort during their absence. That said rookie Dawand Jones, who's been lining up at right tackle, is out for the game. This is the kind of matchup the Jaguars must take advantage of.
Josh Allen is having a career season while Travon Walker is getting better by the week. They'll need to contain the edge, prevent Thompson-Robinson from scrambling (if he suits up), and force the Cleveland offense into making mistakes. If they do, they'll have a good chance of coming out of Cleveland with their ninth win of the year.
