Jacksonville Jaguars acquire Lions CB Jeff Okudah: 3 trade proposals
The Jacksonville Jaguars need to fortify their roster in the 2023 NFL Draft if they want to return to the playoffs and win the AFC South for the second year in a row. One area in particular that could use an infusion of talent is their cornerback room.
Even though the Jags have a pair of starting cornerbacks in Tyson Campbell and Darious Williams, they need someone to man the slot. At No. 24, the team's brass will be in a position to land one of the top prospects at the position but if they chose to focus on another position group, they could then getting on the phone with the Detroit Lions and inquire about Jeff Okudah, who could potentially be available via trade.
Mike Fisher of Sports Illustrated suggests that the Los Angeles Rams could be a landing spot for Okudah after parting ways with Jalen Ramsey earlier this year. Fisher goes on to say that a third-round pick could get a deal done, and if that's the case, the Jaguars should explore the possibility of trading for the former Ohio State Buckeye.
After all, Okudah was the third overall pick in the draft in 2020 and was seen as a potential shutdown coming out of college. Despite the fact that the Texans native has failed to live up to expectations, he still has time to turn the corner and might benefit from a change of scenery, which is something the Jaguars could offer him.
If the Jags think Okudah could reach in potential in Jacksonville, they should then make any of these trade offers.
