Wide receiver Calvin Ridley's reinstatement from suspension and subsequent addition to the Jacksonville Jaguars roster is exciting for all fans. The hope is that the Jags will get the 2020 version of Ridley. That year, he accumulated 90 catches for 1,374 yards and nine touchdowns.

Will the Alabama product be able to have that kind of impact in Jacksonville? Only time will tell, as he last played in 2021, having missed almost two entire seasons after retiring from the NFL and subsequent gambling suspension.

The addition of Ridley to the Jaguars' wide receiver room should be a huge positive for their playoff chances. If healthy and in football shape, Ridley is an amazing receiver that will only push the offense to be even better than they were last year as well as to aid in the continued growth of quarterback Trevor Lawrence.

As previously mentioned, this is a player that, as a No. 2 receiver on his team, had almost 1,400 yards receiving in 2020. The team expects, among other things, that he improves the offense overall and pushes them into winning a few more games (the AFC Divisional game for one).

Calvin Ridley should have a big impact for the Jacksonville Jaguars in 2023

Ridley is the kind of difference-making wide receiver that teams relish the opportunity to add to any team. Heading into 2023, a roster with as solid a receiver room, quarterback, and running back adding a playmaker like him has everyone hoping for a deep playoff run.

The Falcons' 2018 second-round pick has all the athleticism and game-breaking ability to be exactly what the roster needs to compete with the big dogs of the AFC.

A realistic projection for Ridley in the 2023 season would be 1,200 yards receiving to go along with five touchdown receptions. As long as he stays healthy and returns to pre-suspension form, there is no reason these numbers wouldn't be attainable for a receiver of his caliber with a quarterback as good as Lawrence is proving himself to be.
