Jacksonville Jaguars 2023 opponents: 3 Lamar Jackson potential trade destinations
Football is a team sport but there's no doubt quarterback has a bigger impact on the outcome of the game than any other position. This is why teams will always pay a premium for a position and why they'll mortgage their future to land a good one. Just last year, the Cleveland Browns traded three first-round picks for Deshaun Watson and there is a handful of NFL teams that could make a run for Lamar Jackson this offseason. Three of them are slated to play the Jacksonville Jaguars in 2023.
Jackson requested a trade after failing to get the contract extension he wanted and getting the franchise tag in early March. The 2019 NFL MVP has been the face of the Baltimore Ravens since they made him a first-round selection in 2018 but they haven't been able to find common ground in a potential long-term deal dating back to last year.
Lamar Jackson vs. the Jacksonville Jaguars would be must-see TV
There were reports Jackson wanted a fully guaranteed contract like the one Watson got from the Browns last year but he's since denied that to be the case. Regardless of the size of the deal he's aiming for, there's no doubt he could help several clubs and all they would need to do to land him is to part ways with two first-round selections, which seems like a reasonable price for a quarterback of his caliber.
As many as eight teams could make a bid for Jackson but here are three that the Jaguars will face in the regular season, including one division rival. Although the NFL hasn't released their schedule for the 2023 season, a potential Jackson vs. the Jaguars and Trevor Lawrence would be "must-watch TV". Without further ado, here are the three clubs that could pursue Jackson.
