No. 4 Jacksonville Jaguars player that was put on notice: Devin Lloyd, LB

Wait a minute, how could the Jaguars put Devin Lloyd on notice if they drafted him in the first round just last year? Moreover, they liked him so much that they traded up to take him. The former Utah Utes was a Week 1 starter and went on to register two interceptions and six passes defensed in the first three games of the season.

Lloyd's strong start to the season made him an early candidate for Defensive Rookie of The Year honors but he eventually cooled down and was benched in favor of fellow rookie Chad Muma. Even though Lloyd started a few games late in the year, he will most likely need to compete with Muma for the starting spot next to Foyesade Oluokun.

Muma isn't the only player Lloyd will have to beat in training camp though. The Jags threw a curveball at everyone when they drafted Florida linebacker Ventrell Miller in the fourth round. Following the 2022 season, the Jags needed to make upgrades to a handful of position groups but their linebacker corps wasn't one of them.

Besides Oluokun, Muma, and Lloyd, the Jags had a dependable reserve in 2020 fourth-round pick Shaquille Quarterman, who turned heads when he laid a massive hit on Titans running back Derrick Henry that forced him to fumble in Week 14 of the 2023 season.

Ventrell will have to work his way up the depth chart and earn a roster spot. However, he's got the skills to make an impact right off the bat. The Florida native might not see much playing time as a rookie but his presence will push both Lloyd and Muma in training camp.
