How to watch Jaguars vs. Cowboys today: TV Channel, Radio, Stream, Odds, Spread for Week 1 of 2023 NFL Preseason
The 2023 NFL Preseason is here and the Jacksonville Jaguars will play the Dallas Cowboys in Week 1. Although the outcome of the game won't count in the standings and most of the starters on both teams will only play a few series, there will several things to keep an eye on.
In the Jags' case, Trevor Lawrence will get a few reps, and backup C.J. Beathard will most likely get lots of work in the first half. However, third-stringer Nathan Rourke will get the lion's share of the snaps on offense. Also, right tackle Anton Harrison will be making his NFL debut despite the fact that he's been dealing with a shoulder injury.
Harrison, the 27th overall pick in this year's draft, will be tasked with replacing last year's starter at right tackle, Jawaan Taylor. Having mostly played left tackle at Oklahoma, Harrison will be switching sides in Jacksonville and his transition will be one of the biggest storylines of the 2023 season.
With this in mind, here's everything you need to know for the Jags' bout against Dallas in the preseason opener.
Jaguars vs. Cowboys Injuries for 2023 Preseason Week 1
Left guard Ben Bartch is on the Active/Physically Unable to Perform list while he continues his recovery from a knee injury he suffered last year. Also, Tyler Shatley, the team's primary backup on the interior offensive line, left practice early in training camp with AFib (irregular heartbeat). He's back with the team but Blake Hance will get the start at left tackle against the Cowboys.
During an exchange with the local media, head coach Doug Pederson said that Hance has earned the chance to start but Shatley — barring a setback — will get the nod against Detriot in Week 2. Also, cornerback Tyson Campbell, tight end Sammis Reyes and rookie Yasir Abdullah are on concussion protocol, so they won't be suiting up in Week 1.
Jaguars vs. Dallas Odds, Spread for Week 1 of the 2023 NFL Preseason
The Jags are a four-point favorite with a moneyline of -170 for this matchup, per FanDuel. Make a bet of $170 on them and win $100 for a total payout of $270 if they beat Dallas. The Cowboys' moneyline is set at +160. Bet $100 on them and win $160 if they beat Jacksonville. The over/under for the game sits at 37.5 points.
Iain MacMillan of Betsided suggests you take the over because he thinks Dallas' defense won't be as stout as it was last year, which should in turn lead to ample scoring opportunities for the Jags.
