Wide receiver Zay Jones is exploring his options after being released by the Jacksonville Jaguars. He first met with the Tennessee Titans and is now visiting the Arizona Cardinals, per Jordan Schultz of Bleacher Report.

Jones has had a market following his release, visiting the Cardinals and Tennessee in back-to-back days. That said, The Titans won't probably be a landing spot for him, as they're signing fellow receiver Tyler Boyd. That said, it wouldn't be shocking to see Jones signing with Arizona or somewhere else at some point in the summer.

After all, the former East Carolina Pirate is coming off an injury-marred season but set new career bests for yards and receptions in a season in 2022, his first year in Jacksonville.

Jones suffered a PCL injury last year but should be at full strength or close to it now. Veteran receiver Keenan Allen suffered a similar ailment early in his career but fully bounced back. More recently, Lamar Jackson also sustained a PCL injury and fully recovered. Jones should have no trouble doing so.

A second-round pick in 2016, Jones played for the Buffalo Bills and the Las Vegas Raiders before signing a three-year deal worth $24 million with Jacksonville in 2024. Set to count over $10 million against the cap, the Dallas, Texas native was seen as a potential cap-casualty/trade candidate throughout the offseason.

In the end, the Jaguars released Jones following the 2024 NFL Draft. After the signing of Gabe Davis and the arrival of rookie Brian Thomas Jr., there was no longer room for him in the wide receiver corps. By releasing him, the front office freed up $41. million in space.

If not the Cardinals, maybe the Chiefs could be an option for Zay Jones

Arizona has done a good job of surrounding quarterback Kyler Murray with better weapons. Just recently, they drafted Marvin Harrison Jr., the top receiver prospect in the draft. However, they could still use help at the position, so it makes sense for them to do due diligence on Zay Jones. But if they ultimately pass on him, the Kansas City Chiefs could be an option.

The Chiefs just drafted Xavier Worthy in the first round and signed Marquise Brown but they could use depth at receiver, especially if Rashee Rice serves a suspension for off-field issues. General manager Brett Veach has indicated that they first want to see how their young guys develop. However, it would be a good idea to kick the tires on a veteran like Zay Jones, who would give Patrick Mahomes a proven veteran right off the bat.

In the end, the Jaguars moved on from Zay Jones because they found better options at receiver, but he's previously shown he can be a steady contributor. He should get his chance sooner rather than later.
