No. 4 draftee the Jaguars regret ignoring in favor of Leonard Fournette: Mike Williams, WR

Bolstering their wide receiver corps didn't seem at the top of the Jaguars' list of needs in 2017, with Allen Robinson having developed into a true No. 1 and Marquise Lee becoming a reliable target. However, Mike Williams could have given their offense a boost and replaced Robinson when he left the following year. Hindsight is 20/20 but Williams would have also provided insurance when Lee tore his ACL and missed the 2018 season.

Williams got off to a slow start to his NFL career but progressively got better and managed to reach the 1,000-yard mark (barely) in 2019, when he caught 49 passes for 1,001 yards with two touchdowns. Although the former Clemson Tiger has missed seven games over the last four years, he's also hauled in 246 receptions for 3,798 yards with 20 touchdowns in that span.

On top of that, Williams has averaged a pretty good 16.1 yards per catch since 2019, consistently putting on display his ability to get deep. This is a bit interesting when you take into account that he was seen as a possession receiver coming out of college.

Had the Jags opted to draft Williams, they might not have needed to select DJ Chark Jr. one year later. Or, the Jags could have taken both and given Blake Bortles and later Gardner Minshew a dynamic 1-2 punch at wide receiver. Either way, taking Williams instead of Fournette would have proven to be a better investment down the road.
