Best NFL prop bets for Jaguars vs. Texans in Week 12 (Back Evan Engram)
By Jovan Alford
The Jacksonville Jaguars will try to tie up the season series against the Houston Texans on Sunday. When these two AFC South squads played each other earlier this season, Houston won 37-17 in Jacksonville.
This game is one of the many marquee matchups on the Week 12 schedule that bettors will want to have action on. I found two Jags prop that bettors should jump on immediately and a Texans prop involving their young franchise quarterback.

Best NFL Prop Bets for Jaguars vs. Texans in Week 12
- Evan Engram OVER 45.5 receiving yards (-120)
- Travis Etienne Jr. UNDER 63.5 rushing yards (-115)
- C.J. Stroud OVER 279.5 passing yards (-115)
Evan Engram OVER 45.5 receiving yards (-120)
Engram is coming off back-to-back quiet games but has a great matchup on Sunday against the Texans. In Jacksonville’s first matchup against Houston, the veteran pass catcher had seven receptions (eight targets) for 67 yards.
The Texans’ defense is ranked 24th in DVOA-TE and allows 68.6 yards per game to the position this season, per ftnfantasy.com. Engram has gone over 45.5 receiving yards in five out of 10 games and should continue to see a lot of targets on Sunday.
Travis Etienne Jr. UNDER 63.5 rushing yards (-115)
It’s tough to take the UNDER on Etienne’s rushing prop, especially knowing he had 88 yards against this Texans’ defense earlier this season.
However, yards have been hard to come by for the young running back since that Week 3 performance. In his last seven games, Etienne is averaging 66.4 yards on 17.9 carries per game. The former Clemson RB went over 63.5 rushing yards twice within that seven-game window.
It’s possible that Etienne bucks the trend and hits the over on Sunday, as the Texans’ defense allows 106.6 rushing yards per game at home this season. But at the same time, Houston is giving up the seventh-fewest rushing yards per game over their last three games (90.0).
C.J. Stroud OVER 279.5 passing yards (-115)
The Texans rookie quarterback has been putting up gaudy numbers over the past few weeks, which has led to wins for his team. Stroud is averaging 387.3 yards per game and completing 67.8% of his passes between Weeks 9-11.
He will try to continue that momentum against the Jaguars’ suspect defense, ranked 29th in opponent passing yards per game (254.4). When Stroud played Jacksonville in Week 3, he threw for 280 yards and two touchdowns.
Jacksonville’s pass defense has improved over the last three games (209 yards per game allowed), but they played Will Levis and Kenny Pickett in that stretch. Stroud plays in a better offense than both quarterbacks and will let it rip down the field.
Lastly, the former Ohio State QB has gone over 279.5 passing yards in six out of his last 10 games.
