Week 11 AFC South Power Rankings team No. 1: The Jacksonville Jaguars (6-3)

It's funny how the narrative surrounding the Jacksonville Jaguars can change in a heartbeat. Before their BYE, they were riding a three-game winning streak and started to turn heads around the league. They were even been discussed as probably the second-best team behind the Kansas City Chiefs. Then, Week 10 came, they were embarrassed, and pretty much everyone turned against them. It's true that it was an ugly loss, one in which they were outmatched, outplayed, and outcoached.

On the other hand, some analysts made it sound as if Jacksonville didn't deserve to be in the NFL and should be instead playing in the NCAA. All things considered, they're not nearly as bad as some make sound but they weren't as good as they were expected to be either, and that's the thing, the 2023 Jaguars have lots of talent, along with a few roster holes, to be losing in such a disappointing fashion.

Nobody thought the Jags were going to go undefeated though. They must lick their wounds, get to the drawing board, and look for ways to improve. Since they cannot address their current needs (interior offensive line, pass rush), the coaching staff will need to put their players in a position to succeed, and the players, well, they need to play mistake-free football.

Leaving aside, who's calling the plays on offense, the Jaguars won't win many games if they turn over the football, hold their blocks, or make a catch. That needs to change in the second half of the season.
