1. team in the AFC South in Week 10: Jacksonville Jaguars (6-2)

The Jaguars had a fruitful first half to the 2023 season, posting a 6-2 record, the best one they've posted since 1999. Also, they're the only team in the league to remain undefeated on the road. Led by Trevor Lawrence, their offense ranks 10th in points scored while the defense ranks eighth in points surrendered.

That said, the Jaguars must improve in a couple areas in the upcoming weeks. In particular, their third-down efficiency leaves a lot to be desired. Their 36.4 percent completion rate ranks 25th in the league and is one of the reasons their drives don't always lead to points. The fact that they're set to have a tough slate of opponents won't make things any easier for Jacksonville.

Following their bout against the San Francisco 49ers in Week 10, they'll have a couple of divisional games. They'll then play three potentitial contenders in the Baltimore Ravens, the Cleveland Browns and the Cincinnati Bengals. How they fare in that six-week stretch will show what kind of team the Jaguars truly are.

This isn't to say the Jags are a slouch. Far from it. They have lots of depth and talent across the roster. They also have a head coach in Doug Pederson that will demand the best from his players but will also put them in a position to succeed.

The bottom line is that the Jacksonville Jaguars have fared well so far. But the NFL is not about how you start but rather how you finished. They'll have a prime opportunity in the second half of the season to show their 6-2 record is no fluke.
