No. 1 Post-Week 1 AFC South Power Ranking: Jacksonville Jaguars
The Jaguars' place on this ranking shouldn't come as a surprise. In Week 1, they picked up where they left off last year by beating the Colts at Lucas Oil Stadium for the first time since 2017. You could argue that Jacksonville kept things too close but this was a huge road win against a divisional foe.
It wasn't always pretty but this is the kind of game good teams win and that's precisely what the Jaguars are, a club capable of making noise. Wide receiver Calvin Ridley, who joined the team via trade last year but only joined them this past March, had a great debut, tallying eight receptions for 101 yards with one touchdown. Right off the bat, his connection with Trevor Lawrence was on full display.
.@CalvinRidley1 with his 6th reception of the game. Dude is QUICK.

Lawrence didn't hesitate to target Ridley even when he was bracketed. However, the third-quarterback also made use of his other weapons, including wide receiver Zay Jones who made a couple of jaw-dropping catches. On defense, the pass rush showed the weakness it was thought to be. Travon Walker and Josh Allen wreaked havoc at the line of scrimmage, registering a combined four sacks and eight total pressures.
Last but not least are the special teams. Jamal Agnew had a huge return in the fourth quarter that gave the Jaguars great field position and helped them get ahead on the scoreboard.
The most under-appreciated play of Week 1?

Next, the Jags will take on the Kansas City Chiefs and if they manage to win, they will not only be the top team in the division but probably in the whole AFC.
