No. 2 Post-Week 2 AFC South Power Ranking: Tennessee Titans

The Tennessee Titans may seem the biggest threat to the Jacksonville Jaguars' second straight division crown and that's not hyperbole. It's true that they got their first win of the season by beating an inconsistent Los Angeles Chargers team but they could make noise if they gain steam in the upcoming weeks.

Ryan Tannehill won't be a candidate for MVP honors any time soon but he bounce back after a subpar season debut. Sophomore wide receiver Treylon Burks also stepped up, hauling three catches for 76 yards while Derrick Henry and Tyjae Spears combined for 129 carries. The defense also came up with several key stops and forced overtime.

On that note, outside linebacker Harold Landry III just had his first sack of the year. This wouldn't be noteworthy if it weren't for the fact that he missed the 2022 season with an ACL tear. Also, defensive end Arden Key (remember him?) has been a great offseason addition.

Now, the Titans won't be making a Super Bowl run in 2023 but they have enough pieces in place to remain competitive throughout the year. Tannehill was sacked five times in Week 2 but most of them happened early on but got much better as the game progressed.

Overall, the Titans won't wow anyone with their offense but they have a stout defense and can't be taken lightly. They could even win more games than the projected six/seven but until further notice, the Jaguars remain at the top of the division.
