No. 2 Post-Week 3 AFC South Power Ranking: Indianapolis Colts

The Colts showed up at EverBank Stadium in the opener and nearly pulled off the upset. Ultimately, they fell short but they made the Jaguars earn their first win of the year. Indy then lost in Week 2 but got back in the win column when they beat the Baltimore Ravens. The fact that they did it without running back Jonathan Taylor and quarterback Anthony Richardson made the win even more impressive.

Now, Gardner Minshew is no slouch. While he's certainly not a franchise quarterback, he can come off the bench and win a few games. Having a good defense certainly helps and the Colts have a good one. In Week 3, their secondary had a hard time containing Lamar Jackson but their defensive front held him in check.

The Colts might be the least likely team to win the AFC South but that doesn't mean they'll be a laughingstock. Zack Moss has come through during Taylor's stay on the Injury Reserve and once he returns, Indy could have a dynamic 1-2 running back tandem. Also, rookie Anthony Richardson flashed before suffering a concussion but once he's cleared to play, he should pick up where he left off.

If Richardson does indeed make strides, he will be hard to defend by the end of the season. On the other hand, there's a chance he and the offense will regress. Having said that, Indianapolis should be ecstatic about winning their first game of the year.
