No. 1 Not-so-secret Jaguars weapon that will surprise in 2023: Andre Cisco, S

Is safety Andre Cisco overrated? Underrated? Fairly rated? He's certainly not overrated. Coming off his first full season as a starter, he's not discussed as one of the top safeties in the league, despite the fact that he registered more than 70 tackles and three interceptions last year.

On the other hand, Cisco isn't underrated. He's seen as a candidate to break out in 2023. Maybe you could say he's flying under the radar but not so much. After all, he was a ballhawk at Syracuse. In 24 collegiate games, he logged 13 interceptions and 14 passes defenses. And even though the former Orangeman spent most of his rookie season on the sidelines, he consistently flashed the ability to make plays when he was given a chance.

Entering his second full season as the starter next to Rayshawn Jenkins, there are reasons to believe he could pick up where he left off. First, he's managed to stay healthy, which was one of the biggest questions surrounding him during the draft process and one that played a role in his slide to Round 3.

Also, Cisco is entering his second season in Mike Caldwell's system. With more experience and not having to think about filling his assignments, he can then play more instinctively, which should lead to more turnovers.

The one thing that may not make Cisco shine as much as he should in 2023 is that the AFC is stacked with tons talent at the position. Derwin James, Minkah Fitzpatrick, and Kevin Byard are often brought up as the best safeties in the conference. Then again, Cisco will most likely join the illustrious group with another quality campaign.
