No. 3 player the Jaguars could trade by midseason: K'Lavon Chaisson, OLB

Nobody will bat an eye if you say that the 2020 draft was the worst in Dave Caldwell's tenure as the Jaguars general manager. Even though Jacksonville found a couple of starters in left guard Ben Bartch and defensive tackle DaVon Hamilton, neither one is close to be a franchise cornerstone.

What makes the 2020 haul look bad is that Caldwell botched three selections in the top 50. With the ninth overall pick, the Jacksonville drafted cornerback C.J. Henderson, who appeared in 10 games before being shipped off to the Carolina Panthers.

Wide receiver Laviska Shenault Jr. managed to play two full seasons for the Jaguars but he was also traded to Carolina before the start of the 2022 season. That leaves outside linebacker K'Lavon Chaisson as the 'most successful' players the Jaguars drafted in the top 50 in 2020, and that's being generous.

Chaisson has registered three sacks in as many seasons and hasn't given indications he's set to improve. Although the former LSU Tiger has defensive line coach Brentson Buckner on his corner, he's running out of time to make an impression in the team's brass. In fact, the Jags chose not to pick up the fifth-year option on his rookie deal, so he's now slated to become a free agent next season.

It wouldn't be shocking if the Jaguars get inquiries about Chaisson in the upcoming months and if he fails to stand out in training camp, he might not make it to the regular season.
