Roy Robertson-Harris could be entering his last season with the Jaguars

The Jaguars made it a priority to fortify the defensive trenches in the offseason, and it's fair to say that the group looks much better than it did at the end of 2023. Signing Arik Armstead in free agency was a coup, but he's not the only addition who'll wreak havoc at the line of scrimmage. The Jags also used a pair of draft picks on college teammates Jordan Jefferson and Maason Smith.

Whereas Armstead will have an immediate impact, Jefferson and Smith may need time to hit their stride. Fortunately for them, they won't have to contribute right out of the gate due to the presence of Roy Robertson-Harris and DaVon Hamilton. The former has been a mainstay of the defensive front and an important part of the rotation since he joined the Jags in 2021. However, he's not the kind of player who will take over games.

Sure, Robertson-Harris provides depth and leadership, but there may no longer be room for him in 2025 if either Smith or Jefferson steps up. Sure, the front office just gave him a three-year extension last year, and releasing him next offseason would only create $1.4 million in space. Then again, the Jags have gotten much better since giving him a new contract, they can afford to move on from him.

Walker Little could be entering his last season with the Jaguars

When the Jaguars drafted Walker Little 45th overall in 2021, it looked like they had found a foundational piece on the offensive line. However, the former Stanford Cardinal is entering Year 4 and has yet to get his chance.

Little has mostly filled in for Cam Robinson when he's missed time. More often than not, he's played well but it doesn't look like the team's brass is considering him in their long-term plans. Last year, they could've moved Little to the right side but instead drafted Anton Harrison.

This past draft, the Jags took Javon Foster, who may be the swing tackle of the future. Little currently fills that role, so the Jaguars may be preemptively preparing for his departure in 2025. Maybe if the Jaguars trade Cam Robinson before the start of the season, Little will get an opportunity but there's an equal chance that he's the one they send packing.
