5 Jaguars not named Trevor Lawrence we'd like to see on the Madden 24 cover
No. 2 Jaguars player we'd like to see on the Madden 24 cover: Andrew Wingard
What's not to like about Dewey, also known as Trevor Lawrence's double, a.k.a. Andrew Wingard? The former Wyoming Cowboy went undrafted in 2019 but he signed with the Jags and quickly worked his way up the depth chart. While he's not a high-end starter,
Wingard has delivered when called upon and he developed into a locker-room presence last year. Not only did he come up with the 'It was always the Jags' war rallying cry but he also became a quote machine.
The Jags recognized Dewey's impact off and on the field, so they brought him back on a three-year deal worth $9 million in the offseason. He's easily one of the most-liked players on the Jaguars' roster right now and if they keep winning games, he'll get a bigger spotlight. Then again, backup safeties don't grace the Madden cover. Thus, his chances of making the cut are slim to none.
No. 1 Jaguars player we'd like to see on the Madden 24 cover: Calvin Ridley
The arrival of Calvin Ridley to the Jacksonville Jaguars has gotten lots of attention and rightfully so. The former Alabama standout was on his way to becoming one of the top receivers in the NFL but injuries and off-field situations forced him to step away from football in 2021. Then, Ridley was slapped with a suspension for betting on football games, which further tarnished his reputation.
However, Ridley takes full responsibility for his mistakes. Now ready to resume his NFL career, he's healthy and in the right place to reclaim his spot as one of the best receivers in today's game. This is why the EA Tiburon team should get ahead of the curve and choose him for the Madden 24 cover.
