No. 1 player the Jaguars could trade after Jaguars training camp: JaMycal Hasty, RB

You have probably heard the news that running backs aren't valued the way they should be despite the impact the position has on the football field. The Jaguars know how important running backs are which is why they made a handful of key moves at the position in the offseason.

Besides re-signing JaMycal Hasty after picking him off waivers last year, the Jags inked D'Ernest Johnson and then drafted Tank Bigsby in Round 2. Johnson flashed when given the chance during his four-year stint with the Cleveland Browns while Bigsby showed out in the team's first padded practice of the year.

If Bigsby keeps making the most of his opportunities, he could be the primary backup behind Travis Etienne in 2023. This wouldn't bode well for Hasty, who became the RB2 on the depth chart last year after the Jags traded James Robinson to the NY Jets. Although Hasty broke off a 61-yard run against the Indianapolis Colts in Week 6, he averaged an unspectacular 4.2 yards per carry.

All things considered, Hasty is a serviceable backup but Bigsby has more upside and Johnson can contribute on special teams. If the Jags had to choose two of them, Hasty could be the odd man out. The fact that Jacksonville could free up $1.03 million in cap space with just $300,000 in dead money could make him an enticing trade candidate.
