One of the biggest questions surrounding Calvin Ridley heading into the 2023 season was whether he was still the same playmaker he was early in his career. He passed the test with flying colors in his debut for the Jacksonville Jaguars, playing a huge role in the 31-21 win over the Indianapolis Colts in the opener.

Ridley, whom the Jags acquired from the Falcons last year, consistently showed the rapport he's developed with Trevor Lawrence, hauling in eight receptions for 101 yards with one touchdown despite the fact that stopping him was one of Indy's main goals heading into the game.

After the game, Lawrence said he was not surprised that Ridley showed out, noting that he came through and it was great to see him in his first game back.

Next on the Jaguars' schedule are the Kansas City Chiefs. If they want to get their second win of the year, they'll need Ridley and these five players to shine.

No. 5 Jaguars player who must shine vs. the Chiefs: Tyler Shatley, OL

Right guard Brandon Scherff suffered an ankle injury in the opener and is currently day-to-day. He didn't practice Wednesday and there's a good chance he won't suit up in Week 2. If he doesn't, Tyler Shatley will then get the starting nod.

Shatley started 30 games across the interior offensive line in the last three years, so this won't be uncharted territory for him. However, there's a dropoff from Scherff to him. With that said, Shatley doesn't have to play at a Pro Bowl level, he just needs to make sure Travis Etienne has lanes to run in and Trevor Lawrence has enough time to throw the ball.
