Antonio Johnson is poised to break out for the Jaguars in 2024

Defensive back Antonio Johnson already flashed as a rookie but has yet to reach his ceiling. He could do it in 2024. Expected to go in the first or second round of last year's draft, the former Texas A&M product ended up going in the fifth. Although he was listed as a safety in college, he played at several spots across the Aggies' defensive backfield.

The Jaguars wanted Johnson to play safety but it didn't take long for them to give him a shot at nickel. A hamstring injury held him back early in 2023, but he wasted no time putting his skills on display as soon as he got a chance.

The East St. Louis, Illinois native progressively earned more playing time and finished the season strong, registering two interceptions, three passes defensed and one forced fumble. Johnson will tentatively replace Rayshawn Jenkins at safety in 2024. The new coaching staff should help him pick off where he left off last year and unlock his full potential.

Gabe Davis is poised to break out for the Jaguars in 2024

Wide receiver Gabe Davis is the only player on this list who wasn't on the Jaguars' roster last year, but that shouldn't stop him from having a banner year in 2024. The Florida native was highly productive in a complementary role during his four-year stint with the Buffalo Bills, catching 163 passes for 2,730 yards with 27 touchdowns.

Moreover, Davis averaged 16.7 yards per reception in Buffalo. That ability to make big plays, along with his affinity for the end zone will help him an important piece of the Jaguars' passing game. It's also worth noting that he won't be the sole playmaker on offense.

Playing alongside Christian Kirk, Brian Thomas Jr., and Evan Engram should help Davis find plenty of opportunities.
